What guides us . . .

YOU

Candice Ashburn

Candice has more than 30 years of collective professional experience which led her to consulting in the workplace space of mental health and well-being.  She has had roles on Congressional and gubernatorial staff, in higher education, international corporate sales training & development with the largest healthcare company in the world, Johnson & Johnson, and global non-profit management where she still manages the faith based organization she founded as a path forward in the wake of her husband’s sudden death in 2007 when he perished in a Life Flight jet crash during an organ procurement.

Thereafter and since, Candice has spent a number of years collaborating with international partners for both short-term relief and long-term community development initiatives with a wholistic focus on education, housing, clean water, healthcare, nutrition, and mental health counseling. During this time, Candice was also speaking Stateside and abroad, sharing messages on personal growth and hope until she returned to graduate school at forty (with 3 young children in tow) in 2016 and subsequently received a MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Trevecca Nazarene University in Nashville. She earned a BA in Political Science/Sociology from Birmingham-Southern College (AL) where she attributes the beginning of the life value of service to others and has since continued to invest in the lives of people both locally and globally.

“Whether I’m one-to-one in a therapy session, across the table facilitating collaboration within an organization, training a small group or speaking to a large audience, the opportunity to connect with individuals and contribute to the cultivation of their well-being is the reward—that is the motivation and mission of NCC:

cultivating personal well-being.

If we can help people live better, we believe they will feel better. And likewise, if they feel better, they will live better. We also believe personal well-being is a predictor of professional well-being and where individuals thrive, organizations thrive—and that the workplace has a role to play in the well-being of their employees. Our personal and professional lives are not mutually exclusive.

Not only at the end of the day, but by the end of our lives, I believe, we all want to have lived life well. We want to facilitate that, and it really is within reach.”
